Using Moisturizing Skin Cream to Heal Psoriasis Quickly
Submitted by mypsoria on Fri, 08/10/2007 - 01:22.
Psoriasis normally causes patches of red skin with silvery scales. These patches cause severe itching. It is found on elbows, palms and knees. It may affect the scalp also.
Patients of Psoriasis who have sensitive skin need to take care and avoid the following practices:
• Use of Skin Care products that cause irritation.
• Scratching or picking of the skin. Avoid cuts and scrapes of the skin.
• Avoid dry and cold climate which can worsen Psoriasis.
Always keep your skin lubricated and moist by using lotions, moisturizing creams, natural herbal oils and lubricants. Regular use of such products will reduce the pain caused by Psoriasis. It also helps in reducing trauma and heals the disease in a couple of months. Always consult a doctor or a specialist of the skin before using any such products.
These creams cover the affected areas and quickly attack the pathogens which intensify itching and flaking of the skin. Moisturizing creams also release oxygen to the affected area and help in the cure.
How to Use Moisturizers to Keep the Skin lubricated.
-
Use creams and lotions regularly.
-
Keep skin moist by bathing or using wet soaks at least once in a day. Use creams immediately after bath. This seals the moisture in the skin. Bath oils in your bath water can also keep the skin moist.
-
Keep our home moist by using a humidifier.
-
After applying creams cover the area using cloth, plastic or tape.
-
Moisturizing and intensive creams containing minerals soften the skin and provide nourishment. Mineral Shower gel is ideal for the scalp.
-
Moisturizing creams also benefit very dry and sensitive skins as well as red or flaky skin.
-
Moisturizers can be used on the entire body. You need not rely on products containing steroids. They have side effects. Moisturizers develop a barrier and defend the skin from environment and pollutants.
