Symptoms That Will Help Identify Psoriasis
Submitted by mypsoria on Thu, 08/16/2007 - 05:59.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder which can last for years. Simply put across in this disease the rate of replacement of cells aggravates. Under normal circumstances skin cells get replaced in three to four weeks. This process is invisible to the naked eye.
Psoriasis affected cells get replaced in two to three days. Such a fast recycling rate causes a mixing up of live cells and dead cells. Thus layers of skin pile up and become visible. Psoriasis could occur between eleven to forty five years of age to either sex.
Causes
The immune system of the body and Psoriasis are closely interlinked. Psoriasis is caused by the malfunction of the immune system. It starts affecting your own skin cells. While the exact causes of Psoriasis are still unknown some scientists claim that fungi and bacteria cause Psoriasis. Psoriasis can also be caused by heredity.
