A healthy diet can immensely contribute to curing your Psoriasis. Diet combined with exercise can be beneficial as Psoriasis is also related to our metabolic system. Drinking a lot of juice with controlled diet will help in the initial stage. Beetroot, grape and cucumber juice remove the body wastes and help in cleansing the skin. Follow up juice intake with vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. Raw seeds and nuts like sesame seeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds should be the primary component of your diet. Organic fruits and vegetables also can be of great help.
Avoid all types of fats, which include animal fats and hydrogenated variety of fats. Tea and coffee are also strictly prohibited. Goat's Milk, home made cottage cheese and yogurt may be consumed. Brusselsprouts, Broccoli, cabbage and other green vegetables contain folic acid, a vitamin called B complex also known as folate, which is being studied for cancer prevention. Antioxidants, folates, omega 3 acids, beta-caronate and zinc are recommended to be part of your diet. Such a diet can play an important role in managing your Psoriasis.
British Journal of Dermatology has reported that 16 patients out of 58 have deficiency of folic acid. Psoriasis can be caused by even a mild deficiency of Folic Acid. Some Psoriasis patients have also reported improvement after removing citrus fruits, corn and nuts from their diet. Other foods to be avoided are tomatoes, pineapple, coffee and soda.
Psoriasis is difficult to cure. Healthy dietary habits can help. Wheat germ, borage oil, sunflower oil, fish oil and olive oil in diet can help in cure. Avoid animal fats, eggs and processed foods. These irritate the intestines and lead on to Psoriasis. Copper and Zinc rich foods can help in treating Psoriasis. Other foods which can help are rice puffs, soy milk, rice crackers and almond butter. Boiled vegetables are good. Bitter Gourd, pumpkin and even curd can assist in cure. Patients are recommended regular exercise.
