Elidel cream, also known as pimecrolimus cream 1%, can be an effective topical dermatologic treatment to help heal Eczema and Psoriasis. In our experience with Elidel cream, it was prescribed for ear Psoriasis, eyelid Psoriasis, and other skin spot treatment.

Elidel cream is only for use on the skin, and is not to be used in the vagina, rectum, nose, eyes, or mouth. Elidel cream is in a class of medicines known as topical calcineurin inhibitors. The compound pimecrolimus is the immunosuppressant 33-epi-chloro-derivative of the macrolactam ascomycin.

Elidel cream is generally used on the affected areas of skin for short periods. Once itching, rash, or redness goes away, it is usually recommended that a patient pauses using Elidel. It doesn't usually take much Elidel cream to treat skin, and it is generally recommended to limit light exposure to the treated skin.
